Professor Goldman's practice focuses on franchise, international distribution, antitrust, and hospitality related matters. He has over 18 years of in-house experience as a senior executive and lawyer representing major lodging franchisors in all aspects of the life cycle of franchises and franchise systems, including launching new brands and systems, domestic and international development, operations and system changes of almost every type, disputes, bankruptcy and receiverships, and M&A.
Professor Goldman is a past Chair of the ABA Forum on Franchising: a member of the Advisory Committee, North American Securities Administrators Association, Franchise and Business Opportunities Project Group (NASAA is the advisory group for state franchise regulators), a frequent speaker and author on franchise and lodging topics, and the co-editor of the first editions of the Franchise Law Compliance Manual and Fundamentals of International Franchising.
After law school, Professor Goldman clerked for the Honorable Judge Will Garwood on U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Austin, TX and the Honorable Judge Hugh Gibson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Galveston, TX.
