Jill Morrison

B.A., Rutgers University, J.D., Yale Law School. Jill C. Morrison is Executive Director of the Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program and a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where she also directs the Leadership and Advocacy for Women in Africa Program. Professor Morrison comes to Georgetown from the National Women’s Law Center, where she was an attorney in the Health and Reproductive Rights Group. She was placed at the Center in 1998 as a Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow, and focused her work on defending the constitutional rights of pregnant women and developing legal theories to protect health care quality and access. In addition to providing legal assistance to communities threatened with reduced access to health care, Professor Morrison has lectured throughout the nation and authored several publications on providers’ religious beliefs and access to reproductive health care services. Before joining the Center, Professor Morrison served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Sterling Johnson Jr., Eastern District of New York. She also spent a year at the Women’s Law Project as a Philadelphia Bar Foundation Fellow, and practicing with Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of Law Students for Reproductive Justice, and as Vice Chair of the Board of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Professor Morrison has previously taught as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia.
