JOHN J. ROONEY is a director in the Washington National Tax office of KPMG LLP. Professor Rooney specializes in the taxation of partnerships, LLCs, and other pass-thru entities with an emphasis on the use of partnerships in international joint ventures and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Before joining KPMG, Professor Rooney was an Associate Tax Legislative Counsel with the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department, where he was extensively involved with legislative developments and regulatory guidance involving corporations, partnerships, and other pass-thru entities.
