The Law Center will open on time, Tuesday, January 27, 2015, but liberal leave is in effect.

Professor Rubiner has considerable experience on Capitol Hill and in non-governmental organizations. She has been Chief of Staff to Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) since his election to the Senate in January 2011. From 2005–2008 she served as legislative director for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY), and was responsible for the development and management of the senator’s legislative and policy agenda. She was one of the lead members of the team that helped craft the senator’s health care reform agenda that became a key plank of her 2008 presidential campaign. For nine years she was a legislative assistant to the late Senator John Chafee (R-RI) and handled issues related to health care, women, reproductive rights, poverty, and children. Professor Rubiner has worked for many organizations shaping national policy and political strategy, and engaging in grassroots organizing, law and litigation, and political affairs. She has served as Vice President for Public Policy for PPFA, Director of the Health Care Program at the New America Foundation, and Vice President for Public Policy at the National Partnership for Women & Families. She was a founding board member of the American Constitution Society and has served on the boards of the Freelancers Union Insurance Company and New Alternatives for Children. She has received awards for her work from The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, Catholic Charities, the American Public Health Association and the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse. Professor Rubiner received a B.A. from Barnard College and J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center
