Professor Russell-Hunter is currently the Deputy Director of the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals, United States Department of Defense. As such, he is responsible for the overall supervision of the Department Counsel/Trial Attorneys presenting Government's case in the trial-type administrative Industrial Security Clearance hearings and of the personnel security adjudicators who prepare those cases. In that role he also oversees the litigation in U.S. District Court arising out of those cases and the training of the Department Counsel/Trial Attorneys in trial advocacy skills. Professor Russell-Hunter teaches trial advocacy and deposition skills to practicing attorneys as part of the NITA trial and deposition programs. He teaches the D.C. Bar course on Department of Defense security clearance cases. He is also a master in the Federal American Inn of Court, where he is a past president and where he teaches litigation and trial advocacy skills to practicing attorneys and Georgetown University Law Center students.
