Eric A. San Juan has held various positions in the Department of the Treasury and IRS, including Acting & Deputy Tax Legislative Counsel, Office of Tax Policy; Senior Attorney-Advisor, Taxpayer Advocate Service; and Senior Technical Advisor, Office of the Commissioner (TE/GE). He has worked on legislative and administrative aspects of individual, trust, estate, non-profit, and procedural issues. Additionally, he is Chairman of the Committee on Tax Policy & Simplification, American Bar Association, and a member of the advisory group to Meridian-180.org, the quadri-lingual platform of the Clarke Program in East Asian Law & Culture, Cornell University. Previously, he taught as an adjunct or full-time law faculty member at Catholic, American, and St. Louis universities. He has published articles in sociological and law reviews. In the past, he was an associate at the law firm then known as Hale and Dorr (Boston) and a judicial clerk at the U.S. Tax Court (Washington). He graduated from Harvard College in 1987, Harvard Law School in 1991, and subsequently earned a graduate degree from the University of Chicago.
