Jacob A. Stein

         A.A., LL.B., George Washington University.  Professor Stein is a partner at Stein, Mitchell & Muse, where he concentrates on a general, civil, and criminal trial practice.  He has published articles and books related to civil and criminal trial practice.

         Professor Stein served on the Board of Directors of the ABA Publication Litigation.  He has served as president of the D.C. Bar, as an Independent Counsel, as the chairman of the United States District Court, D.C. Rules Committee, and as a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Ethics Committee.

         Professor Stein has received awards such as The American Inns of Court Award for Professionalism, 2000; the Council for Court Excellence Justice Potter Stewart Award, 1998; and the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the District of Columbia Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

         Professor Stein is the author of several law-related books, including Closing Arguments, the Art and the Law (2d Ed. 2000) and Eulogy of Lawyers Written by a Lawyer (2010).
