Petra A. Vorwig is Regulatory Counsel for SES an international satellite services company. She is responsible for export and sanctions compliance and data protection and security.
Prior to joining SES, Professor Vorwig was an attorney at Steptoe & Johnson LLP where she advised clients on export control and economic sanctions laws and regulations and dealt with the principal US agencies administering these regulatory programs, including the Departments of Commerce, State, and Treasury.
Professor Vorwig also represented domestic and foreign telecommunications clients, who provide international and domestic telephone, wireless, and satellite telecommunications services, before the Federal Communications Commission and other federal government agencies. She also has extensive experience in licensing proceedings for satellite systems, earth stations, terrestrial wireless carriers, international common carriers, and submarine cable operators.
Professor Vorwig received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center and her BA from the University of Virginia
