Jeremy Weinberg has been an Attorney-Adviser in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State since 2006, focusing on legal issues relating to the European Union and the Balkans, privacy, international trade and intellectual property, and consular affairs. He entered federal practice after earning his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Submissions Review Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law. Before law school, he was a journalist for the Moscow Times newspaper in Russia, a reporter/researcher for the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Goldman Sachs research department in London and New York. He graduated from Yale University in 1992 with a B.A. in History and from the London School of Economics in 1994 with an M.Sc. in International History, focusing on European integration. From 2011 to 2016 he taught European Union law as an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University School of Law.
