B.S., Cornell; M.B.A., J.D., University of Texas, Austin. Professor Wieder is an Administrative Patent Judge at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to his appointment, Professor Wieder was in private practice for over 20 years. His primary legal experience is in patent litigation at the appellate and trial levels, patent licensing, settlement agreements, and protection of computer software. Professor Wieder was law clerk to Circuit Judge S. Jay Plager of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Previously, Professor Wieder was an engineer for Motorola, Inc., Microprocessor Design Group. His technical experience is in VLSI circuit design. Professor Wieder has authored numerous articles on patent law.
