James Barta teaches a seminar on conservative legal thought.  He is an associate at MoloLamken LLP, a litigation boutique specializing in complex cases.  Much of his practice—which spans patent, regulatory, and white-collar matters—involves critical motions, appeals, and Supreme Court work.

Previously, Professor Barta clerked for the Honorable Raymond M. Kethledge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Stephen J. Murphy, III, of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Professor Barta earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating magna cum laude.  He graduated summa cum laude from Patrick Henry College with a B.A. in Government.
