B.A., honors, highest department distinction, Stanford; J.D., Order of the Coif, University of California, Los Angeles. Professor Drimmer is Partner at the firm of Steptoe & Johnson, and formerly Deputy Director of the Office of Special Investigations in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he investigated and prosecuted (in federal and administrative proceedings), U.S. citizens and residents who have committed Nazi-sponsored war crimes; he provided assistance on legal and factual issues in international war crimes investigations and trials; and performed research and advisory work on Nazi asset issues. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Professor Drimmer was an associate with the law firm of Covington and Burling, a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the United States Solicitor General, and a judicial clerk on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
