Professor Gimigliano is Principal-In-Charge of Americas Climate Solutions and Energy Sustainability Tax Practice. Prior to that, he was the Senior Tax Counsel for the Committee on Ways and Means, where he focuses on issues involving energy, cost recovery, accounting methods, tax credits, corporate reorganizations, the corporate alternative minimum tax, net operating losses and several other areas. Since joining the Committee in 2005, Professor Gimigliano has served as lead tax counsel on the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and has played a central role in hurricane relief legislation and in the enactment of the Tax Increase and Prevention Reconciliation Act (TIPRA). Prior to joining Ways and Means hew was a member of Ernst & Young’s tax practice for 11 years and from 2001 to 2005 he was National Director of Ernst & Young's Electric and Gas Energy tax practice. He has been a frequent speaker at industry tax conferences and has published a number of articles related to energy and utility taxation.
