B.A., Arizona State University; J.D., Georgetown. Professor Kleinman is an Assistant United States Attorney. He previously served as a Trial Attorney in the Department of Justice's Criminal Division. He has prosecuted a wide variety of matters, ranging from violent crime, drug trafficking, and terrorism financing cases to computer crime and multimillion dollar fraud prosecutions. Before joining the Justice Department, Professor Kleinman clerked for a federal judge and worked for a Washington law firm. He has taught high school students, undergraduates, kids at a juvenile detention center, and men at a halfway house. He has been teaching at Georgetown since 2007.
