Professor Nokes is Principal Officer, Legal Affairs, and Associate General Counsel at The Pew Charitable Trusts. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Taxation of Exempts (ThomsonReuters), a bimonthly publication that provides tax analysis and guidance to professional advisors to, and managers of, charities, foundations and other complex nonprofit organizations. From 2008 through 2015, she practiced law with the Exempt Organizations group at Caplin & Drysdale, Chartered, where she was promoted to Of Counsel in 2011 and elected to Member in 2014. While a student at Georgetown, she served as Managing Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and was a Legal Writing Fellow and Senior Writing Fellow in the Legal Research and Writing Program.  Her publications include the student note, E-Rated Movies: Coming Soon to a Home Theater Near You?, 92 GEO. L.J. 611 (2004), and several articles on tax issues affecting tax-exempt organizations.
